Lucent: outsider sent e-mail about Ciena
Article Abstract:
Lucent Technologies stated that an investigation of the company found no proof that someone from the company sent an anonymous e-mail accusing Ciena of manipulating test results for its equipment. Ciena rivals have been alleged of using dirty tricks to block its merger with Tellabs. Tellabs as well as CNBC received the e-mail speaking of Ciena's alleged actions to obtain industry standards for its equipment. Lucent said that the sender used the Lucent Personal Web Assistant, thus the address was traced back to its facility in New Jersey.
