MFS hires new chairman

Massachusetts Financial Services Co. appointed a new chairman in February 2004 after the Boston mutual fund arm of Sun Life Financial Inc. agreed to a $351-million settlement with US regulators and lost its top two executives to temporary suspensions. Robert Pozen, a 57-year-old former chairman at Fidelity Investments is charged with helping to rebuild MFS's storied reputation in the wake of its entanglement in the widening mutual fund scandal.
