National Bank Financial plans adviser hiring spree
Article Abstract:
Securities brokerage firm National Bank Financial revealed its plan to recruit 1,000 new retail investment adviser in the coming two years. Most of the firm's new advisers will be placed outside of Quebec since its retail brokerage operations in the other provinces are somewhat weak. The hirings will come from completely new hirees, some will be hired away from other firms and others could come from the acquisition of smaller brokerages.

OSC suspends licence of Fortune Financial's principal
Article Abstract:
The securities license of Fortune Financial Corp's controlling shareholder David Singh was suspended for three months by the Ontario Securities Commission. The suspension was due to fraudulent advertising made by Infinity Investment Counsel Ltd, Fortune's mutual fund subsidiary. In January, Mr Singh had been penalized for the questionable investments entered into by Infinity's mutual fund.
