Ottawa eyes national aerospace plan: Wants Bombardier support to benefit sector across country in echo of '80s policy

The federal government has plans to use its upcoming negotiations with Bombardier Inc. to spread the benefits of the aerospace sector more evenly throughout the country. Industry Minister David Emerson said that Ottawa will press the struggling Montreal-based aerospace sector, and Bombardier's Canadian operations, are centered mainly in the Montreal and Toronto areas.
