Ottawa imposes duties of up to 43% on hot-rolled steel imports
Article Abstract:
The Canadian government will impose steep tariffs on future imports of hot-rolled steel to prevent further dumping. Revenue Canada will impose a levy of 43% on imports from Romania, Russian and Slovakia, and a levy of 24% for steel from France. The government said that the imports from the four countries account for 45% of all hot-rolled steel imports in Canada, wiht Russia controlling 32% of the total steel imports.
