Montreal, Que.-based Astral Media Inc., which is led by chairman Andre Bureau and president Ian Greenberg, has advised the Canadian government to boraden its regulations for broadcasters. Canadian media companies have been lobbying the government to liberalize rules for foreign ownership of Canadian broadcasting companies.

Shaw meets Street's financial targets

Shaw Communications Inc. posted a higher financial results for the first quarter period, meeting its financial targets as a result. The company posted 19 million Canadian dollars in losses for the quarter ending November 30, 2002, compared to 54.7 million Canadian dollars in the same 2001 period.
