EX-ARMS MONITOR URGES AN INQUIRY ON IRAQI THREAT
Article Abstract:
Former CIA chief weapons inspector David A. Kay believes there should be an independent investigation into the intelligence gathering the preceded the Iraq war and misled Bush administration officials about the existence and threat of weapons of mass destruction. Bush rejects the idea of an inquiry because he still beileves the war was justified. The White House may be willing to review CIA operations to see if they can be improved, but it wants to avoid any political complications during a presidential election year.
