Petty quit BCT.Telus after deal rejected
Article Abstract:
George Petty has tendered his resignation as CEO of BCT Telus Communications Inc after the board rejected his plan to acquire another telecommunications company. Petty said that the acquisition, believed to be either Clearnet Communications Inc or wireless company Call-Net Enterprises Inc, would have given BCT the Central Canadian platform it needs to launch a new national carrier. However, the BCT board vetoed his plan and opted for a less expensive route of building their own Ontario- based network.
