PlayStation 2, or PS2, is the latest version of Sony's computer game console that offers more than enhanced video games. It plays audio CD's and DVD movies. It can be connected to high-tech stereo receivers for Dolby Digital or DTS sound. Sony boasts that the console can handle 66 million polygons, or visual elements,in a video game. Priced at $299, Sony foresees PS2 as an innovative link to Internet gaming.

Networking kits for the home computer user are becoming simpler to install and configure. Presently, there are products that use data wire, the phone line, home power wiring, or wireless network hubs. Connections vary in speed and security. The faster and more expensive run at 11 megabits per second. Wireless connections offer ranges of use up to 150 feet. These sytems allow each household member to have their own computer, yet save some money by sharing a scanner, a printer, and a high speed Internet connection.
