DEAN'S CAMPAIGN ALTERS APPROACH AFTER IOWA LOSS
Article Abstract:
Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean has altered his strategy after his third-place finish and post-election speech in Iowa hurt his standing in the eyes of Democratic voters. He is emphasizing his commitments to economic growth and health care with a more subdued presentation during his week-long campaign before next week's New Hampshire primary. Part of his strategy will include his wife's first joint TV interview with him on ABC's "Prime Time." Judith Dean has been reluctant to campaign with her husband.

Outside Campaigners Flood Iowa, Sharing Their Candidates' Styles
Article Abstract:
The Democratic presidential candidates seem to have organized campaign armies of supporters and volunteers who are relentlessly concentrated on getting out voters for their candidates. Howard Dean has been the strongest in recruiting Iowa outsiders to work on his campaign. Richard Gephardt has more assistance from labor union organizers. The Iowa Democratic Party hopes to generate a record turnout and exceed the 61,000 who voted in the 2000 caucuses.
