Article Abstract:
The new legislation passed by the U.S. Congress in 1996 increased the size of the Border Patrol and provided for the enactment of tougher, more stringent measures for illegal immigrants. The law hopes to make it more difficult for illegal immigrants to survive in America, especially after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Article Abstract:
Congress is fully ready to accept any measures by government to try and impose tougher laws for illegal immigration and tighter border security measures. On the other hand, any laws trying to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants are often met with disapproval.
