Article Abstract:
The name of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, had came out quickly during investigations into Abramoff's dealings and it was reported that Abramoff and DeLay had ties that extended beyond their mutual acquaintance with Abramoff's alleged partner, Scanlon. Lobbyists are prohibited from paying for lawmakers travel and it was reported that Abramoff used Scanlon's American Express card to pay for a luxurious trip DeLay took to Scotland and England in 2000.
