Regulator tackles Labatt ad promotion
Article Abstract:
Labatt Brewing Company Ltd. is cited for violations of the Liquor Licence Act's rules on advertising as a result of its in-store, radio and newspaper advertisements for its free mini-football promotion for its Budweiser beer product. Labatt Brewing has its Budweiser promotion opposed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which cited that the promotion will attract beer drinkers below the allowable minimum-age limit. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario's spokesperson, Ab Campion, cited that Labatt Brewing opted to pursue the promotion even if its was earlier opposed by the regulatory commission.
