Justice leaning toward Microsoft breakup
Article Abstract:
Microsoft Corp has received a legal setback as the United States Justice Department is seriously considering recommending the break up of the software firm along product lines. The recommendation to Judge Thomas Jackson is expected to be supported by the 19 states suing Microsoft over its alleged monopoly practices. The recommendation, if upheld by the legal system, could take at least two years to impose because of the expected appeals from the software firm.
