Setback for Prosecutors in Martha Stewart Trial
Article Abstract:
Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum has delayed testimony by Douglas Faneuil in the securities fraud case against Martha Stewart and Peter Bacanovic. Attorneys for Bacanovic challenged the fact that a document that provided an interview with Faneuil's former lawyer, Jeremiah Gutman, indicates that Bacanovic had played no role in getting Stewart to sell her shares of ImClone stock, but the document was withheld from defense lawyers. While this may not help Stewart, it may give Bacanovic an advantage and separate him from helping her further.
