Oldsmobile's ID crisis
Article Abstract:
Oldsmobile has announced it will begin displaying its name prominently on some of its new models, which it targets to market to younger and import-oriented buyers. The company's mid-size Intrigue, which was launched by Oldsmobile to lure buyers from Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, displays the company's name only on its radio dial and in small type on its taillight, making it difficult for consumers to identify the manufacturer of the vehicle. The Olds badge is expected to appear on the outside of the compact Alero, the '99 Intrigue, as well as on the next-generation Aurora, which is scheduled to be launched in 1999.

Sports cars still speeding into buyers' hearts
Article Abstract:
Sports cars are showing signs of resurgence after being thought to have almost gone extinct in the last decade. The genre was revitalized with the 1989 debut of the Mazda Miata and Nissan 300ZX, but got a bigger boost with the almost simultaneous introduction of the BMW Z3, Porsche Boxster and Mercedes SLK. The latest sports car to hit the market is the '00 Honda S2000, a 240-horsepower, two-seater with a tag price of $32,415.
