More gas-powered autos on 'green' list
Article Abstract:
Ten of the 13 most environment-friendly vehicles are gasoline powered, according to John DeCicco, creator and co-author of 'ACEEE's Green Book: The Environmental Guide to Cars & Trucks, Model Year 2001.' The book from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, ranks each vehicle based on its fuel-economy rating and tailpipe emissions. Fewer drivers leasing autos
Article Abstract:
The number of customers in the automobile leasing sector is decreasing. In June 1999, leasing comprised 32.2% of the market, down from 33.8% in June 1998. Leasing agents also announced that volume fell by 1.3% in 1998, the first decline in eight years. Analysts predict that lease share will fall to 29% in 2000. The decline in automobile leasing is attributed to the strong economy, fewer subsidized leases from automakers and the increasing tendency of banks to stop supporting leases.
