Nasdaq has plans of its own to go public

The Nasdaq Stock Market, which is home to publicly traded companies, is planning to go public. The company, which is valued at around $2 billion based on the value of the equity ownership it has already sold, has declared its intention to go public in 2002. The initial public offering will provide the company with the money to update its screen-based trading system and the chance to buy or merge with other exchanges.
