Syncrude trust battered as investors dump stock

Canadian Oil Sands Trust had its biggest budget overrun in the history of the oil sands with a cost of $2.1-billion for the Stage 3 expansion at Syncrude Canada Ltd. Units in Canadian Oil Sands, having 35.49 percent stake in Syncrude as the entire business, dropped 16 percent to $44.90 on the Toronto Stock Exchange and wiping $726-million off on the firm's market value.
