Telstra reinvents itself globally
Article Abstract:
Australia's giant telecommunications company, Telstra, plans to reshape its corporate mission. It will move from being a telecommunications company whose foundation was on telephony to an information services company that includes telephony and data transmission. Outgoing chief executive officer, Frank Blount, stated that the Telstra managed by incoming chief executive officer Ziggy Switkowski will have to form alliances with companies such as Microsoft and IBM to make the transformation. Blount was credited with reinvigorating Telstra when he arrived from AT&T in 1992.
