A proposal forwarded by Labor leader Mark Latham promised the abolition of 15% contributions tax and the goal of providing retires with a minimum of 65% of their gross income at the age of 65, which was referred as '65 at 65'. The studies stated that the 65 at 65 policy was questionable despite its endorsement by the Association of superannuation funds of Australia.

Too clever by half
Article Abstract:
Australia's newly proposed capital gains tax will tax 75% of gains made in managed funds, as opposed to 50% on direct assets. Expected results of the tax increase are discussed, such as compliance problems.
