The steel deal

The steel production in the China has increased by nearly 38% in May 2005 due to which two Australian companies, Mt Gibson Iron and Midwest Corp. have signed a mining development agreements with Chinese producers for their Western Australian projects. But the shareholders are worried about the rebound in the market as the Bloomberg's index of steel share prices have fallen from 186.45 to 150 in July 2005.

AMP's blueprint: Profits for payouts and a rainy day
Article Abstract:
The chief executive of AMP, Andrew Mohl, believes AMP will make a $750 million capital return, pay off $250 million of debt and boost annual dividends by two-thirds. Mohl wants investors to price AMP on its return on equity, value of new business, operating business, costs and investment performance.
