The markets shrugged off one of the worst trade deficit results of November 2005 and such complacency could leave the Australian economy at the mercy of increasingly volatile global forces. Australia's large current account deficit is functionally related to the super liquidity cycle, underlying the reality of being controlled by global forces and being vulnerable to external shocks.
