Nortel creates 2,000 jobs in Europe

Brampton, Ont.-based Nortel Networks Corp. has announced that it will add 2,000 employees at its European operations. Notrel, which is expanding its wireless Internet operations, also reported the formation of an alliance with Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard Co. to develop high-speed Internet products.

Love affair with techs still hot, survey says

A new survey from Ipsos-Reid found that investors in Canada still are attracted to high-tech stocks. The survey found investor confidence was high in technology companies, such as Dell Computer Corp., Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp.
