Unions wage anti-merger campaign
Article Abstract:
Canadian Airlines International Ltd's proposed merger with Air Canada is being opposed by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW). Prime Minister Jean Chretien is also being asked by the three unions to place Canadians' interest before the shareholders of the two companies. The 215,000-strong CAW even asked the public to get involved.

Vincor International uncorks a much-needed acquisition

Kim Crawford Wines in New Zealand has been acquired by Vincor International. The deal will give Vincor a distribution channel in the United Kingdom and a high-end product.
