American pilots reject deal
Article Abstract:
Pilots for American Airlines Inc have rejected on Sep 20, 2000 the contract offered by the company. Under the proposed one-year contract, pilots will get a 3% increase in their salaries and the carrier will drop its claim to a $45.5 million court-imposed fine for the pilot strike in Feb 1999. The contract rejection came a month after United Airlines pilots signed a tentative contract giving members 45% to 55% pay increases over four years.
