The local Aborigines of Port Keats are wild and unruly, but also proud, warrior-class people, the men often physically imposing and ready for physical violence. But they say they want to be left in peace to live with their tribes in their outstations, but the federal government insists on putting together different tribespeople in 'cultural museums'.

Indonesian fishermen are regularly fishing in Australian waters, thereby exposing major faults in Australia's surveillance of its northern coastline. Australia could solve its coastline surveillance problem, if Aborigines are properly resourced through CDEP to conduct constant coastal patrols across western Arnhem Land in northern Australia.
