WestJet Airlines Ltd. gave its former president and chief executive officer, Stephen Smith, a compensation package of $2.6 million in 2000. WestJet, which gave the former executive a resignation payment of $704,000, appointed Clive Beddoe to the positions of president and chief executive officer.

WestJet flying high after expanding east
