The Canadian Parliament formed Petro-Canada Inc in 1975 as a way to increase Canadian ownership of the oil industry. Since that time, Petro-Canada has cost the taxpayers billions in tax subsidies. By comparison, the privately-held firm, Renaissance Energy Ltd, succeeded without government backing.

Opposing free trade is like opposing gravity
Article Abstract:
Opposing the free-trade agreement between Canada, the US and Mexico makes no sense. The blame for Canada's job losses should be put on the recession and low commodity prices. The rich countries of the world must open markets internationally to help the poorer countries.
