Study blasts Quebec's universal daycare
Article Abstract:
A new report from Montreal, Que.-based Institute for Research in Public Policy has revealed that government funds should be spent on universal, non-taxable family allowances. The report, which also supports funding for low-income assistance and daycare subsidies, wants to reallocate the $3 billion that Quebec's government spends of family policy.

Middle-class families can't afford best daycare available to the poor
Article Abstract:
A new report from the Ottawa, Ont.-based Canadian Policy Research Networks has concluded that licensed day care services are more easily obtained by the poor than middle-class families. The report, which found that only 17% of middle-class families have children in licensed day care facilities, examined families in six Canadian provinces.
