Yahoo goes Hollywood for new CEO

Yahoo appointed Terry Semel as its new CEO and Chmn in a move that signals the Internet pioneer's shift to a media company. Semel was a longtime Warner Bros executive who led Warner to 18 consecutive years of record profit and revenue which crested at $11 billion in 1999. Under him, the one-time struggling studio produced the 'Batman' and 'Lethal Weapon' movie frnachises, built and influential television production business with 'Friends' and 'ER' and launched a chain of Warner Bros Studio stores.

PeopleSoft CEO plays hardball with Oracle
Article Abstract:
Craig Conway is working to prevent Oracle from concluding a hostile takeover of PeopleSoft. The competition between Conway and Larry Ellison goes back to when Conway worked at Oracle. The takeover is currently awaiting antitrust investigation by the federal Department of Justice.
