A new internationalism vs. globalization
Article Abstract:
The creation of the global economy has made weaker economies suffer crises caused by the inequitable distribution of wealth. The IMF prescribes solutions but hardly alleviates the problems it tries to solve. Reform is necessary to alleviate financial crises in Asia and the rest of the world. Stringent regulation is not the answer, but rather, transparency and greater accountability. Labor is essential to the survival of the global economy and thus, should be given greater importance.

You can't globalize halfway
Article Abstract:
Rogelio Ramirez De La O is convinced that the economic crises that spread from Mexico to Asia have resulted from the failure of countries to open up comprehensively enough in an era of globalization. The president of ECANAL, a private economic think tank based in Mexico City, Mexico, analyzed the benefits that nations will derive from globalization if they will only get rid of the misconception associated with it.
