Article Abstract:
One of the most striking and yet under-appreciated outcomes of the 2001-2002 crisis is the survival of Argentine democracy. In the wake of its recent crisis, Argentina can move from survival to stability only if it responds to demands for institutional change in a way that strengthens the country's institutions over the long term.

Pakistan's "armored" democracy
Article Abstract:
The goal of military regime in Pakistan is to neutralize any political parties that might oppose its powers. Military in Pakistan is still using bribes and threats to splinter the political parties, as such their ability to "structure democratic compromise or mediate political conflict" is bound to suffer serious damage.
