As if nature doesn't matter: ecology, regime theory and international relations
Article Abstract:
Environmental issues have been treated by International Relations as part of a regime theoretical framework, and critics argue that this hampers analysis of environmental issues. Regime theory is based on a positivist approach, and this means that it seeks a value-free approach which hampers the development of critical thought, since meanings are not examined. There has been some development of International Relations beyond positivism, but it is still not necessarily compatible with an ecological view.

Social ecology and 'the man question.'
Article Abstract:
Ecofeminist politics has much in common with anarchist Murray Bookchin's social ecology, which is expounded in the book 'Toward an Ecological Society.' However, Bookchin's rejection of ecofeminist ideas reduces the power of his theory, putting doubt on whether it can be used in actual practice. Ironically, Bookchin's ideas are closer to ecofeminism than those of his colleague Janet Biehl's.

Wild-life: Anarchy, ecology and ethics
Article Abstract:
Primitivisms deem civilization in all its various guises to be inherently destructive to biological and cultural diversity and to individual freedoms and the very idea of progress is an ideological smoke-screen used to justify the increasing domestication and enslavement of human populations and ecological landscapes.
