Camus and his critics on capital punishment
Article Abstract:
Albert Camus' essay, "Reflections on the Guillotine" depicts his opposition to the institution of capital punishment. Camus attacks capital punishment which is based on the possibility of judicial errors and diverse verdicts. He feels capital punishment is a violation of Christian norms and devolves excessive powers to the state. Thomas Molnar charges that Camus' ideas are sentimental and overlook individual responsibility. However, Molnar's and Walter Berns's critiques against Camus are absolutistic and they avoid Camus' main arguments against absolutism and relativism.

Reframing incrementalism: a constructive response to the critics
Article Abstract:
The concept of incrementalism is one of the most widely cited as well as criticized ideas in the policy sciences. Although the concept has important elements in political and organizational life, its deeper implications are not understood enough for it to be useful to other scholars. The misunderstandings are due partly to incrementalism's differences with Western culture's fundamental principles. Thus, the concept may have to be reframed with emphasis on the spirit rather than the letter that unproductive debates may be avoided.
