Collaborators and the politics of memory in Chile
Article Abstract:
This article examines the attitudes and memories and four collaborators involved with General Augusto Pinochet's repressive military regime. The author, maintaining these four individuals traitorously betrayed their comrades and participated in there capture, torture, death or disappearance, hold different memories, with some apologizing for their actions and others glorifying the violence and their 'heroic' actions.

Explaining judicial reform outcomes in new democracies: the importance of authoritarian legalism in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile
Article Abstract:
The variation in outcomes to the legal strategies of the prior authoritarian regimes in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil is studied. Findings suggest that judicial reform is likely to be successful in places where the prior regime was both repressive and legalistic as in Chile.

Political justice under authoritarian regimes in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile
Article Abstract:
The development and consequences of the institutional matrix of political justice under each regime are discussed. Different courts, especially military court, where the bulk of political trials took place are focused.
