Epigrams on the ephemeral genre
Article Abstract:
Time-bound electronic images are taking the place of the cultural artifacts that are preserved in and are attempts to preserve the passage of time, namely, the written text. Television is shaping a humanity incapable of reflection and lacking in analytical skills, aphasic, alogical and individualistic. It has encouraged narcissism, banalizes time, trivializes events and by constant repetition, makes the viewer apathetic. It saves the people from boredom and from abstraction.
