European Union environmental policy and the UK government: a passive observer or a strategic manager?
Article Abstract:
This article examines the United Kingdom's sovereignty over their preferred environmental policy in the broader context of the European Union's (EU) biodiversity policy. The author argues the United Kingdom's government was able to strategically manipulate EU politics for their own short term benefits, but maintains long term ramifications need to be studied further.

The ozone endgame: the implementation of the Montreal Protocol in the United Kingdom
Article Abstract:
The implementation of the Montreal Protocol in the UK for substances that deplete the ozone layer has been examined. The study seeks to clarify the long-term political implications of international environmental agreements at the national level. Results show the enforcement of the law is as political as its negotiation. This finding reveals the need for political ideas which cut across the traditional division between national and international politics.
