From affirmative action to full spectrum diversity in the American workplace
Article Abstract:
The cultural diversity of the US workforce in the 1990s necessitates the creation of a more progressive system to represent ethnic minorities in the workplace. Affirmative action, which has enabled some minorities to have more employment opportunities, does not contain organizational incentives which help promote diversity efficiently. A two-fold approach which addresses the flaws in affirmative action and promotes or increases diversity in the workforce is needed.

End of an era? Affirmative action and reaction in the 1990s
Article Abstract:
Support for affirmative action has been weakening since its introduction in the 1960s. The system has received criticism from sectors that feel that qualified employees have been passed over for promotion and have not been awarded jobs due to mere demographics. Affirmative action, while unlikely to disappear entirely in the future, weakened in the 1990s due to factors including Republican supervision of Congress and a general alteration of public opinion.
