Globalization and its discontents
Article Abstract:
Globalization has effected a change of production venue that affected the workers of both the developed and developing nations. Highly paid workers in developed countries cannot compete with the much lower paid, but equally skilled workers in developing countries. The situation has led some economic analysts to predict scenarios such as the breakdown of the international trading system and continued downsizing. There are no immediate solutions to the problem, but response from all concerned is needed to address the situation. An international conference would be a good start.
