Goebbels and propaganda: the psychological dimension
Article Abstract:
One aspect of Josef Goebbels' propaganda technique which has not been emphasized enough is his attention to the psychological effect of his policies and message. The probable impact a propaganda on the feelings and biases of the target audience was always carefully considered. His was a two-pronged strategy, relying on media control and 'manipulative persuasion,' or exploiting the audience's mind-set to serve his purpose. He believed that intellectuals yielded to the physical strength of the man in the street and that propaganda should be at the level of the latter.

Perception of the Holocaust: then and now
Article Abstract:
Perspectives on the Holocaust have changed since 1945. The Holocaust has now gained a symbolic significance. Auschwitz did not get prominence in terms of news-coverage at the time it was freed. Nazi anti-semitism was not the sole cause of World War II and there should be no dilution of the total responsibility of Nazism. The memory of the Holocaust should act as a deterrent to the rise of the far right.

Hearts and minds
Article Abstract:
The invasion of Iraq is presented by its supporters as a war of liberation, designed to trigger a democratic revolution not only in Iraq itself but also throughout the Arab world. From this it follows that victory cannot be achieved by military means alone and would be impossible unless America can win over at least the bulk of the local population.
