IAEA Board of Governors approves modest budget increase
Article Abstract:
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) approved a small budget increase during a meeting in Vienna, Austria. The increase, the IAEA's first since 1984, was instituted in order to address the agency's budgetary problems. The IAEA has been undergoing financial difficulty in view of its small resources and large responsibilities. However, the modest increase in funding is not expected to fully solve the problem.
