The transformation of hearts and minds in eastern Europe
Article Abstract:
The transformation of eastern Europe as exemplified by Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic are analyzed. The experience of east Germany is not factored into the analysis because of its direct incorporation with the former west Germany. The Czech Republic has opted to take certain routes which other countries have not taken or have not completely embraced, especially in the areas of restitution, lustration and the condemnation of communist crimes.
