Serbian President Boris Tadic's call for a general election on January 21, 2007 brought relief for both Serbians and Kosovo Albanians. The United Nations' troubleshooter Martti Ahtisaari would be presenting his proposal for the settlement of Kosovo status to the parties after the parliamentary elections in Serbia.
