Malawi's new dawn
Article Abstract:
Malawi's transition from dictatorship to multi-party democracy is marked by a pattern of regional voting and polarization. Though Malawi's political future is uncertain, the new government's performance so far has given hope. The quality of the leadership will be crucial to poverty alleviation, the removal of regional divisions and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
