Why African-Americans vented anger at the Korean community during the LA riots
Article Abstract:
The violence inflicted on Korean-Americans during the 1992 Los Angeles riots is an indicator of the growing resentment among Afro-Americans against the economic prosperity of the Koreans. Cultural factors have also resulted in strained relations between the two communities but Afro-Americans have been angered largely by the development of a successful banking network by Korean businessmen. Hence, there is a need to extend financial aid to Afro-Americans to establish private business enterprises and expand their economic base in the US.
