Multiculturalism, or culture's last stand?
Article Abstract:
Multiculturalism aims at the integration of minority and immigrant groups through education. The teaching of cultural and linguistic diversity has been developed in the US, England, Canada and Australia as a means of solving problems caused by racial and ethnic conflict. The merging of minority cultures with the majority has been complicated by issues, such as wearing of the 'chador' at school by Muslim girls. Literature and culture studies, which address universal concepts, can offer a much broader perspective of gender and race issues than political ideology.

Rationality and Western culture
Article Abstract:
The key element of a basic understanding of society and culture is the truth about reason. It is important to see reason as a tool, frequently used for evil instead of good. It is also vital to recognize the centrality of communication and discussion in understanding the dominant human institutions of society and culture. Modern government bases economic and social policy on subverting and replacing society and self-government with statism.
