Panajotis Kondylis and obsoleteness of conservatism
Article Abstract:
Greek scholar Panajotis Kondylis might be considered one of the great conservative thinkers of the 20th century. The man, who currently lives in Heidelberg, Germany and writes in German, has written a dissertation called Conservatism, published in 1986, which analyzes the historical content of its subject and conservatism's decline in the 19th century as a major political force. For Kondylis, conservatism was the ideology of a basically hierarchical society in the Middle Ages that was defended by landed aristocrats and their intellectual followers.
