Parties complete weapons reductions under Balkan Arms Control Accord
Article Abstract:
The June 1996 Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control between Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina has led to the destruction of thousands of weapons that is expected to help eliminate the conflict between the warring parties. This agreement, which is patterned after the 1990 Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty, mandates numerical ceilings on tanks, armored combat vehicles, combat aircraft, attack helicopters and artillery that these Balkan countries can possess.

Belgrade suspends implementation of sub-regional arms accord
Article Abstract:
Yugoslavia has suspended implementation of an agreement made in Jun 1996 on Sub-regional Arms Control, while others involved in the agreement have continued to be committed to it. The agreement places limits on tanks, aircraft and other military resources that could be possessed by parties involved in the Balkans conflict that ended with the 1995 Dayton pace agreement. Informal meetings are to be carried out by the parties involved until Yugoslavia rejoins the accord.

Belgrade, KLA move forward on arms control, disarmament
Article Abstract:
Yugoslavia has renewed its implementation of the June 1996 Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control following the withdrawal of Yugoslav forces from Kosovo. The Kosovo LIberation Army (KLA) has also competed its demilitarization. The United Nations agreed to establishing a Kosovo Protection Corps with a trust of 2,000 weapons, which will response to natural disasters and other emergencies.
