Article Abstract:
Political influence is predicted to continue to cross borders as globalization increasingly melds domestic and international issues. In fact, the meddling of nations in other nations' politics and the flow of influence-peddling funds across borders have a long history. Soon after the 1917 Russian revolution, the Communist International sought to influence domestic politics throughout the world with its 'Moscow Gold' effort. American communists also received funding from Soviet sources, while American intelligence endeavored to influence electoral outcomes against communism in many countries.
